Growing Our Seeds: A Basic Feeding Schedule

You can make growing as simple or as complicated as you wish. Here are some basics for fertilizing your outdoor cannabis grows that work well for us. We are a certified organic farm, so we only use certified organic products. Are they worth it? Who knows, but we use them.

 

All-purpose dry amendment (5-4-3, 5-3-2, etc.) - for large scale growers, between 500 lbs and 2000 lbs per acre depending on spreading technique and planting date. If you are using plastic culture, 1000 pounds an acre spread directly into the rows is fantastic. If, you are broadcast spreading, bring it up to 2000. For late season field plantings, scale your nitrogen way down to prevent plants for growing vegetatively for too long, or producing small or weak flower clusters.

 

We use all-purpose fish/plant based liquid fertilizers (5-1-1, 4-3-2, 3-3-3, etc) use at half strength, after week 2 of plants being above soil – work your way up to full dose if plants do not burn. If seedlings become overly rootbound, you can use foliar feeds to keep them green.

If you notice yellowing in your plants, feel free to give them a little nitrogen.
