What is THCV? What strains have it?
Tetrahydrocannabivarin, or THC-V, is a novel and non-psychoactive cannabinoid generally found in very minor amounts in cannabis plants. Dubbed "Diet Weed" and "Weederall" it is becoming the next big buzz word in cannabis. What makes THCV so special? And what strains have have high THCV?
THCV is currently being studied for potentials to aid with a pile of medical conditions such as seizures, diabetes, anxiety, panic attacks, and pain management. There have been a few published works including this interesting study on rodents at National Library of Medicine.
"In rodent studies, THCV decreases appetite, increases satiety, and up-regulates energy metabolism, making it a clinically useful remedy for weight loss and management of obesity and type 2 diabetic patients."
The list of potential uses is sure to grow and only time will tell what science digs up.
For us, THCV is stimulant, motivator, and appetite suppressant. We experience a clear headed, focused high with plenty of euphoria - without getting the munchies associated with smoking THC. Its helps with our ability to get stuff done and stay on task. Like drinking a cup of coffee that won't give you the shakes.
A few on the crew enjoy it for getting creative on art projects, while others like a few puffs before getting going in the morning - but most celebrate it for doing fun stuff outdoors.
Historically, any strains that produced THCV were extremely long flowering - 12-14 weeks meaning they never reach maturity for outdoor growers not near the equator. Not to mention the original famed THCV strains such as Durban Poison only boast 1-2% of the cannabinoid.
Through years of inbreeding and selection we are proud to offer a lineup of THCV rich varieties in seed form, fit for home growers and farmers alike. They offer significantly shorter flowering times, bigger production, and the higher THCV contents of any on the market. In our trials we were able to hit almost 10% THCV in our lines.
In addition, they are all feminized F1's, so you can expect consistent, reliable female plants with vigor. Plants are 1:1's, meaning they produce almost equal parts THCV and THC.
