GTR Seeds traces its roots to Oregon CBD, one of the pioneering companies in modern cannabinoid-focused cannabis breeding.

Our team helped introduce commercially viable CBG-dominant cannabis seeds, expanding the possibilities of hemp cultivation beyond traditional CBD varieties.

Since then, our breeding programs have expanded to include CBDV, CBGV, THCV, and other specialized cannabinoid profiles that were once extremely difficult to find in commercially available seeds.

Advancing Triploid Cannabis Seeds

One of our most exciting contributions to cannabis breeding has been the development and commercialization of triploid cannabis seeds.

Traditional cannabis plants are diploid, meaning they contain two sets of chromosomes. Triploid plants contain three sets, which generally results in greatly reduced fertility.

For growers, this can mean substantially less unwanted seed formation when plants are exposed to pollen.

Our triploid breeding program combines this reduced fertility with carefully selected traits such as exceptional resin production, flower quality, cannabinoid content, and agricultural performance.
