What is a Triploid?
Most plants are diploids, meaning they carry two sets of chromosomes. Triploids are unique hybrids with four sets of chromosomes from one parent and two from the other (4N + 2N = 3N). Triploids are common in agriculture, from seedless grapes and bananas to watermelons, and now in premium cannabis varieties.
How Triploid Cannabis Seeds are Made
To create a triploid, one parent is converted to a tetraploid using colchicine and carefully tested to confirm chromosome doubling. This tetraploid is then pollinated with diploid pollen, producing high-performing, largely seedless triploid seeds. Due to the complexity, yields are roughly 25% of a normal crop, which reflects their premium quality.
Seedless, but not 100%
Triploid cannabis seeds are highly sterile, but minimal seeding can occur under heavy pollen pressure, such as near grain or fiber cannabis crops.
Non-GMO & Certified Organic
Our triploid hemp varieties are certified organic and non-GMO. THC varieties follow the same breeding practices, but USDA certification is not applicable.
Well-grown crops with good field conditions and accurate testing can yield 15-30% total cannabinoids variety dependent.
Growing technique, nutrient regime, sampling protocol, drying method, post-harvest handling, and laboratory accuracy all factor into total cannabinoid content on a crop-wide average.
Ratios refer to CBD, CBG, or CBDV/CBD percentages to total THC.
These COA's were taken from plants 30 days pre-harvest as required by the US Department of Agriculture, and are not an accurate representation of finished flower cannabinoid content.
For finished flower results we suggest seeking out results from other farmers who have grown our varieties. We cannot guarantee finished flower results, so we do not post them.
All seeds are feminized seeds.
A minimum of 10% extra seed is added to every order.
All seeds contain less than 0.3% total THC. Understand your local laws and ordinances before planting.
