What is a Triploid?
Triploids are plants with three sets of chromosomes—four from one parent and two from the other (4N + 2N = 3N). This makes them largely sterile, similar to seedless grapes, bananas, and watermelons. In cannabis, triploids are known for:
-
Increased growth vigor: Bigger, stronger plants
-
Denser, frostier flowers: Maximized CBD content
-
Reduced seed production: Safer for premium flower production
-
Enhanced aromas and terpene profiles
How Triploid Cannabis Seeds are Made
Triploid seeds are created by converting a parent to a tetraploid using colchicine, verified through flow cytometry, and then pollinated with diploid pollen. Tetraploid parents rarely produce seeds, so yields are about 25% of a standard crop—reflected in their premium value.
Seedless, but not 100%
While highly sterile, small amounts of seed may appear under heavy pollen pressure, such as near fiber or grain hemp crops.
Non-GMO & Certified Organic
All triploid hemp varieties are certified organic and non-GMO.
Well-grown crops with good field conditions and accurate testing can yield 15-30% total cannabinoids variety dependent.
Growing technique, nutrient regime, sampling protocol, drying method, post-harvest handling, and laboratory accuracy all factor into total cannabinoid content on a crop-wide average.
Ratios refer to CBD, CBG, or CBDV/CBD percentages to total THC.
These COA's were taken from plants 30 days pre-harvest as required by the US Department of Agriculture, and are not an accurate representation of finished flower cannabinoid content.
For finished flower results we suggest seeking out results from other farmers who have grown our varieties. We cannot guarantee finished flower results, so we do not post them.
All seeds are feminized seeds.
A minimum of 10% extra seed is added to every order.
All seeds contain less than 0.3% total THC. Understand your local laws and ordinances before planting.
